Happy Spook'ms

Another busy season. The boys had a party at school on Friday, party at Karate on Saturday morning (teacher Mr. Nick dressed up as Magnum PI - one of my favorites!!) and safe night party at church that afternoon (Austin volunteered to run one of the games)! Austin went on his first youth hayride Saturday night - he had a great time. Sunday was time for pumpkin carving...or rather in our family, pumpkin drilling! We discovered a few years ago that it was easier and more fun for the boys to decorate pumpkins using daddy's drills. Its a continuing tradition and now they are strong enough to hold the drill alone and push the buttons. For our Halloween dinner, we had meatloaf mummy (its shaped like a mummy and covered in cheese!), spider macaroni n' cheese, and jiggly eyeballs (orange jello with some food gel for the center). After dinner we headed for "Scary Perry" - a street in the neighborhood near us. The whole street closes down and the residents go all out in decorating their houses, yards...it's amazing. We head there every year with cousins Natalie and Juliet! Afterward we head back to our own neighborhood to trick or treat. But the best part is the sorting and swapping of the candy loot. I think the boys spend more time swapping and sorting candy than trick or treating! Another successful Halloween!
