It's County Fair Time!

What can I say, we love the fair. It's that one thing that takes you back to a time as a youth that was fun and exciting. There aren't too many things that are still around from when I was a kid but the fair is one thing I can share and say "now when I was a kid". We always start the fair by entering numerous items for judging. Last year, Austin entered 12 items and won 11 ribbons total! This year, we weren't as creative as last year - no cookies or quilts - BUT Connor and Dylan did make their 1st fair entries! Besides their art entries, all 3 boys also designed and decorated their own toilets for the Toilet Decorating Contest. That was pretty intense - 3 toilets at the same time. Drum roll please...Dylan's Fish Tank won 6th place, Connor's Loo-Loo the Clown (in England, toilets are called Loo's) won 8th place and Austin's Potty Pup won 11th. They are thrilled just to get ribbons (especially the twins - their very first!!). I was amazed as their creative souls emerged and the ideas of what to use and where it should go blossomed (they chose everything you see on the toilets - mommy was only in charge of hot glue and a tiny bit of guidance).

Latest Ribbon Update: Connor won an honorable mention for his one painting of a sunset. Dylan won 1st place for his watercolor of a chameleon, 2nd place for his chalk drawing of a garden, 3rd place for his rocket done with markers. Austin won twice for 2nd place, a 5th place, a 6th place and a 1st place ribbon for his plaster sculpture of a dragon! Way to go boys!

The boys did a fantastic job! They definitely have plumber genes. It seems that this category is getting more popular with each passing year.
