Since the day the last one entered the world, they have been labeled, the Play Posse. Due to summer camps and vacations, they haven't spent their usual outings together until this week when camps were over. Sadly, the Hill gang did miss out on a day trip to the beach - my fault for forgetting. We spent a long, hot, and fun day at the fair where endless rides and spins were just not enough. Then we spent a whole day at the pool together, a tour of the Montgomery County Recycle Center, an evening playing laser tag and finally a trip to the Walter Reed Medical Museum in D.C. Imagine all that in one week - yet it never tires them out or ends without them asking "can we play some more". Cousins - it's a beautiful thing!
FYI - Recycle Center is very fascinating - though no rats were spotted, it was interesting to watch how trash is sorted and made into other household items. The Medical Museum had lots of items from Civil War time - a skull still with the bullet, the bullet that killed Abe Lincoln, giant hairball from a 12 year olds stomach, a lung from a smoker (let me tell you, you will never want to smoke when you see this), and oodles of other gross items that make up a freak show but is actually science! And yes, that is a real brain the kids are holding - it was dipped in something to coat it in plastic - the guard brought it out as something special for them only.
