It all happened at the Fair!

Two words to end the summer - Fair Time! We all look forward to it, plan for it and can't get enough time there. Again this year, the boys were busy decorating toilets and framing up artwork to enter. Then there are the endless hours of going on rides....and more rides. They would go all day, until they dropped from hunger and thirst. After 4 hours, they are melting down over the thought of leaving. Thank goodness for "ride-all-you-want" wristbands! Our family definitely gets their money worth out of them. This year, Aunt Tammy, cousins Natalie and Juliet, Grandpa Rick and Nana Sandy joined us for an all out fun day! Now that the kids are bigger, the baby rides are unwanted, they want the bigger, faster and the more they spin the better. Good thing we had extra adults on hand to swap off! On the last night of the fair, we returned one last time, in the pouring rain! Didn't faze the boys at all. Luckily I had platic ponchos in the closet (leftover from vacations) so they wore them. The beauty of going in the rain and the last day, the kids enjoyed going into all the tents, getting all the leftover freebies, splashing in puddles....and they even got to go on extra rides free because the roadies were just letting them on at this point. Kids were happy, ribbons won, grownups exhausted....all make for a fabulous County Fair! A huge highlight to the week, we got to see a baby calf born - that was exciting and the boys were not grossed out at all. My favorite picture - it was pouring down rain and the boys decided to hold up in the "Old Timers" Building playing checkers and their balloon says "celebrate life" - priceless. (p.s. we only placed 10th, 11th, 12th in our toilet designs - boohoo! Austin's was "The Pottyry" - get it, a pottery, Connor's was "Central Park", Dylan's was "The Hunny Pot")
