God gives us strength...Fear Not!

Another exhausting, exhilarating and exciting Vacation Bible School week! We had more kids than ever - 78! All 3 boys look forward to this every year. Austin was especially excited that his 2 friends, Ben and Nate joined him. This year's theme was down on the bayou- lots of fun music, crafts, fabulous bible stories, acting out stories of Moses, Passover, the Red Sea....there was singing, dancing, snacks and play time outside. Whew, lots of activities and lots of Godly learning. This year's mission was providing stuffed animals to those in need. Someone from the church made fleece turtles that all the kids got to stuff and put a prayer in its pocket! The kids also brought in stuffed animals every day to donate. The VBS committee always tries to make the entrance to the church interesting and inviting. Since this year's theme was cajun/bayou based, I had the idea of building a pier/dock with wooden pallets. Idea sounded great but boy was it alot of work (isn't that how great ideas always turn out). It took 20 wooden pallets to build 56 feet of dock, plus covering it all with sheets of plywood (all this was donated - thanks to Brett for getting with his supply houses to get this stuff). It took a lot of unloading, reloading, drilling in screws, removing it all....despite the hard labor, it looked great. Of course, I took a picture of everything EXCEPT our finished dock. Go figure. It was a great time this week and the kids are always sad to see it end. Until next year!

p.s. music in the slide show is from vacation bible school!

Adam just attended the "Crocodile Dock" VBS. I was a bit jealous to see that your t-shirts are green. Our church got purple, which Adam did not like one bit.

BTW - did you like the music? Adam's fave song is "You're powerful," the rock song.
