We had amazing weather on Sunday - in the 70's! What to do, what to do! Finally, I said, who wants to go to the local creek and play? Well, they didn't need any coaxing, they were knocking me down to get out the door! We are very lucky to live near two different creeks - Sligo and Rock Creek. If you drive along them, there are lots of places to pull over and park, picnic tables and playground equipment to add to the joy of playing in the creek. The twins put on their rain boots, Austin put on old sneakers....armed with plastic baggies (for possible creatures they find) and buckets. I wasn't sure how this would playout, since I was never brave enough to take all 3 of them before (plus I had a yuck factor to deal with....if you ever saw the creeks near a city before). It turned out to be a great outing. Brett even found an indian arrowhead while looking through rocks - what a find! The boys walked in the creek, all along the creek, up and down the embankments, stuck in thorn bushes, boots falling off in deep parts, accidently wetting themselves (only one had that problem) from being in cold water and finding deer prints in the mud. Just dirt, dirt and more DIRT! They dug under rocks, searched for fish, built a dam, watched the water flow...then it was time to go home and Dylan bursting into tears when he realized how covered in yuck he really was and how much sand and water were in his boots! Oh well, all in a day at the creek! As Connor said several times when being asked if he needed assistance "Don't worry mom, I can do it, I'm JUST LIKE Survivor Man (cable TV show). Needless to say, it is tops on our outing list now!

You're such an awesome mom of boys! I know exactly what part of the creek you're playing in and now I'm inspired to go ahead and let me kids get wet!
It looks like so much fun. All the outlaws (big and small) are smiling. I can't wait to bring my boys.
