Living in Neverland

Tonight we went to a production of Peter Pan - this time at the Olney Theatre. The one we saw last year was okay but tonight's was fabulous. You can never go wrong with a production at the Olney Theatre. We had front row center seats. Despite the show ending at 10:30 p.m. - WAY past the twins bedtime, all 3 boys stayed wide awake and loved it. This version of Peter Pan had a contemporary twist to the costumes and set design AND Peter Pan was played by a boy (which never happens). This thrilled Dylan, who as always, is the forever Peter Pan fan and is thrilled at any new reason to wear his costume. So if you are wondering - YES, he wore his costume. He was the only little boy dressed up but it didn't faze him at all. After the show, Peter Pan and Wendy were waiting to greet the children, sign autographs and take pictures. Dylan has been wearing this same costume since the Halloween when he was 3. Originally the pants were hemmed about 5 inches but now they are completely let out and thankfully, he can still fit in the shirt. I don't know what will happen when Dylan no longer fits in the costume. It may need to be bronzed - definitely goes in his keepsake box. I'm not looking forward to the day when Dylan outgrows the costume, but hopefully, he won't outgrow believing in magic and Peter Pan!
