Going Home

Today is a sad day as a friend goes home to Heaven. We traveled many roads together and it's hard to believe that it's her time to go. Lori Sampson and I met almost 8 years ago, then a couple years later we both found out we were expecting twins at the same time - she had a boy and girl, Julia and Jeffrey. In addition, she also has older daughter Emma who is now 12 (the twins are 5). I was always amazed at how she never let anything slow her down (even with the cancer) and never seemed exhausted from it all despite working full time and caring for her children and family. She had a great love for the theater and vintage amusement parks. I will greatly miss her weekly emails on where to find the greatest deals, new places to go, and the latest renovations her husband was attempting. So as I struggle with the fact that this vibrant woman was called home at age 44, though I will never make sense of it, I will try to find comfort in the fact that her battle was short and she isn't in pain anymore. Please keep her young children and family in your prayers. She will be a greatly missed in her children's lives.

Oh, Becky.. sorry to hear about your friend. We can never fully understand God's plans. I often struggled with this for many months after my friend Jenna died. Our hearts go out to the family.

I still long for my friend Pat's voice over the phone - I miss her so much.
