and then there were two!

Two teeth out that is!! Finally after having his 2 bottom front teeth loose for more than 2 months, Connor's teeth are out! It started when I noticed that his bottom front teeth were leaning away from each other. Looked rather odd. I asked him, do you have a loose tooth? "NO". Time went on and finally I couldn't stand it any longer and convinced him, mommy HAD to touch the teeth. Sure enough, they were wiggly. Now, any other child would be jumping for joy and wanting to tell everyone. Not Connor. He didn't want anyone to know. Why? His fear of having them out. Is there a reason for his trauma? NO. Austin has pulled all his own teeth - all 20 - without a cry, scream or wimper. Austin pulled Dylan's 2 teeth - not a cry or wimper from him. Austin even pulled cousin Natalie's teeth out - not a cry or tear out of any of them. Austin is the official family tooth puller. But that did not sit well with Connor. So FINALLY, after giving Connor many deadlines of when he needed to extract his teeth plus a visit to the dentist, who said it would be less traumatic if we did it and not her...we made it happen. As you can see from the picture, his big boy teeth were almost completely grown in at this point!! Of course, now we know why the dentist wanted us to do it. She didn't want to hear the screaming. Oh yes, Connor screamed...didn't you hear it on the Alaskan news channel? He was screaming before we ever touched him. So you can imagine, Connor is laying in my lap, I'm holding legs and arms, Brett is holding is mouth open, Austin is trying to pull the tooth but freaking out that he is hurting Connor and Dylan is sitting with his hands over his ears....you have all that pictured right? Poor Austin, he was so upset because he didn't want to hurt Connor but he wasn't strong enough to hold him. But thankfully, with a quick twist on each tooth, and out they came. One tooth - no blood, the other tooth had some blood. Connor was MAD! But the teeth were out - mission accomplished! Funny, just an hour later, he was bragging how one tooth didn't hurt at all and the other was just a pinch! He was quite grumpy the rest of the day but after his choice of a M&M Frosty and selecting something from the dollar store, he was ready for the Tooth Fairy. Connor decided to spread the wealth and placed one tooth under his pillow for the next 2 nights. Now with that trauma over, we dread the thought that he has 18 more teeth to come out.....Austin may be passing the torch at that point!
