Happy 61st Birthday Israel! Today we celebrated Israel's independence in 1948. It's also a fun time for our preschool as many activities are planned and we all wear our blue and white. Each classroom tries to represent some aspect of life in Israel, such as talking about the Olive Tree and having bread to dip in olive oil, discussing orange orchards and sharing orange slices, pin the tail on the camel, racing boats by blowing on feathers attached to boats across a finish line, swimming under a table to view "exotic fish" and search for shells in the sand table to represent the beautiful beaches on the Red Sea...and more. You also can't have a celebration without a parade - of c

ourse it was raining today so the children marched inside, sang songs and performed dances they learned. Connor and Dylan were very excited about the things they learned this year - they remembered so many details. It was long and exhausting but one of my favorite celebrations at school!
