Valentine's Day is always filled with excitement and love for my guys. They were all thrilled to make homemade cards and also write their names on the ones from the store. Connor chose High School Musical cards and Austin and Dylan used Pirates of the Caribbean given to them by their Great Aunt Sue (thanks, they loved them!). On Friday, Austin's school has parties in the afternoon. The great thing about the party is Connor and Dylan are always included and made to feel welcome. This year, one of the mom's brought a bingo game and enough beanie babies for everyone to win one (plus the twins). It was a huge success. Right when you are thinking that these 4th graders are starting to turn into obnoxious little "tweens", you see how thrilled they are to win a stuffed animal - hugging them and playing together, you are reminded that even though they are "trying" to act older, they are really still our little people in these ever changing bodies. They had pizza, cupcakes and more sweets than necessary but between bingo and an art project, it was a very fun afternoon.
On Valentine's Day, the boys had heart shaped pancakes decorated with whip cream, strawberries and of course, pink sprinkles! It ended with a trip to McDonalds and a Baskin Robbins heart shaped cake! And of course, they would be disappointed without yet another plushed animal in pink, red or purple. The twins were thrilled with their dogs and Austin had requested a heart shaped pillow. If it's soft and fuzzy, they are all happy! Hope you shared your love or friendship with someone today. It only takes a moment to let someone know they aren't alone in the world and that someone is thinking of them. That's what's so wonderful about these Hallmark days, a perfect opportunity to just remember and make a moment for someone. Happy Every Day!
